I have the same problem with my 2004 Sunfire. Leave the ignition on for 10 minutes. Just let it sit for 10 minutes. No shorter than that time. And Should start.
We are having the same problem with my daughters 1999 sunfire, it turns over runs 2 seconds , it appears to be anti theft device ,if you wait ten minutes and try it again it will start,but not sure on how to disable the device , no help as yet,but after 10 minutes it re-sets itself and will start, if that is your problem .

its the starter it happened to me too i replaced and now its fine
Minutes (and seconds) are finer subdivisions of degrees. There are 60 minutes in a degree, so a minute represents 1/60th of a degree.
You have to unplug the ground from your battery for 1 or 2 minutes.
I think I'd replace the fuel filter. That's a quick, easy, cheap place to start. FriPilot
The fuel filter on a 2002 Pontiac Sunfire is in the rear between the fuel tank and the rear axle. By the way its under the car and easy to change takes about 10 minutes.
I have a 1999 Sunfire and I have problems with the theft system too. Sometimes, I am able to pull the fuses and put them back and it'll start. Other times, I have to just sit and wait (for about 8 minutes) and then it'll start.

It will depend on the shop and the experience of the staff on hand. The cost can be $40 to $80+ and it can take 30 minutes to a few hours.Ê
I wouldn't think it should take any more than 30 minutes, give or take.
Unhook battery cables (both) for about 5-10 minutes. Then rehook. This may reset the system. If problem persists, then the CEL will come back on.
E23 Communication Error: There is a vehicle/radio communication problem or an inter radio communication problem, Correction: Disconnect battery voltage to the radio and then reconnect after a few minutes.
Roughly, 4 quarts. Have 5 available. Check the oil a few minutes after adding 4 quarts. (allow time for the oil to drain down into the oil pan) Add more oil, or not, as required.
Disconnect the negative battery cable for 20 minutes.
