You forgot to let your wife in
When you accelerate. you are putting presure on the main engine barrens. if they are going bad. You will hear this knocking sound. I don't know how many miles you have on this engine. But that's what it sounds like. But that's not all that can make this sound. You will have to tell more about it and when it started. Did it just start all at once? or did it start and then get louder?
many many things, Loose lug nuts which lets wheel make knocking noise. Engine will make a knocking noise if it is really low on oil. Some timing belts make a knocking, slapping noise just before they break. These are just a few examples . Have someone ride in car with you as you duplcate the noise and see if they can determine which part of the vehicle it is coming from.
Because it just does. That's why.
Some causes will:A leaky lifter will pressure up and quit, and can sound like a rod knock when the clearance is bad enoughA collapsed piston skirt will quiet down when the engine warms upA rod can knock under load or start up and quite down when oil pressure is applied. Its only going to get worse though.
that knocking sound could be the connecting rod knocking because of the bearing being warn out do to low oil pressure or no oil all together. also it could just be the valves. some people hear the valves ticking and think its knocking. i have had many friends think that. valves ticking is a simple fix. just look up how the valves are suppose to be adjusted then take off the valve covers and with a feeler gauge measure how big the gap is.
If it's knocking it's probably a rod going out - if it's ticking it could just be the valves - Rodeos are notorious for value noise...
Sounds like your lifters are bad and might need ajusted or changed, it could be your cam not looping.
Sounds like you might have blown the motor, thrown rod, spun bearing, etc. Drive it by a local shop, for something like that, it should be a free second opinion of whether or not its repairable.
it sounds like a bad throw out bearing or clutch plate. not a major deal it just starts to get louder but eventually you going to have to replace it when you do your next clutch job. chris
you re rear axle i just replaced mine it probably the front pinion bearing
5500 RPM or 5 RPM below the banging knocking sound you just had .
if you have an electrical fuel pump can sometimes do that
