Hey Michelle==It really depends on what kind of car but probably the clutch and brake pedals are binding where they pivot. and the accelerator is binding in the cable. Sometimes you have to completely remove them to properly lubricate them and replace the acc cable. GoodluckJoe losing presure in the rx-7 the clutch eases down to the floor Which pedal? If gas, I would lean toward a throttle bore cleaning.
I had the same problem for almost a year and damaged both engine mounts and trans mount. The fix was simple. The throttle body was gummed up and sticking. Took it apart and cleaned it with carb and throttle body cleaner and no more sticking. Smoothest pedal in a year.
try checking the gasket around the intake that should fix it
Clean the throttle body with a spray throttle body cleaner.
you will need to replace the throttle cable, and while you are at it check the return spring.
Check and clean the pedal system and the cable that it connects to. Lube any connections necessary, and make sure that the return spring is working, if your ATV has one.

Alecia, Sounds like the switch near the brake pedal is sticking. Check the switch and the pedal height adjustment. I know it sounds complicated but it really isn't. This problem should be fixable with adjustments to the switch and/or brake pedal. . John In Montana I had the same problem. There is a plastic piece on the brake pedal that pushes a solenoid when the pedal returns to the upright position. Its a round white piece about 1/8 inch thick. If it is completely missing you will only see the hole where the piece fits. As a quick easy and cheap fix I simply superglued a penny over the hole. Not the best looking fix but it helped keep my battery from draining.
the butterfly tends to get gunked up. remove air intake assembly to get to throttle body butterfly. i used an old toothbrush and some carb cleaner on it to remove buildup.

Clean the throttle body
manualy lift brake pedal to see if they go out. if so check spring at pedal
wet a rag and wipe down the wah pedal and if that doesn't work go and buy a new one
Chances are the throttle cable from the pedal to the throttle body needs replacing.
