Incorrect timing.
Yep, too far advanced. Be sure to get good quality cap and rotor when replacing. Heard from several sources the ones with the brass bushing are best. Got a cheap cap once and found that one of the contacts was at an angle....caused lots of grief for me.
Backfiring in any motor is either badly out of time or a burnt valve.
Check the IAC (Idle Air Control) valve on the back of the Throttle body http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gHjl6BWp6j4
Possibly the firing order got messed up.
Damage to the throttle body is caused by corrosion or direct impacts. A loose connection can cause nearby components to strike and damage the throttle body.
Possible causes, mixed up spark plug wires, wet/damp spark plug wires, a bad distributor cap and/or rotor and a burned intake valve could cause the 4.3 to pop through the throttle body.
The TPS (throttle position sensor) has gone bad on your throttle body.
A dirty throttle body will cause that.
Gas is not fed through the throttle body on a 1999. The fuel injectors are where the fuel is dispensed.
The throttle position sensor is on the throttle body. That's the part of the engine that controls the amount of air allowed into the engine. To find the throttle body, follow the air intake routing toward the engine. The throttle body is the part that sits on the intake manifold. To find the throttle position sensor, follow the throttle cable to the throttle body. If it helps, have someone press down and release the throttle pedal while you're looking for the throttle body/position sensor. The throttle cable causes a shaft to turn, that's the part that controls the air coming into the engine. The throttle position sensor is connected to that shaft.
If it goes dead when under load like a/c kicks on, then it's highly likey that you need to clean the throttle body. The throttle body is simple to remove. Use throttle body cleaner and clean the back and all ports. Always disconnect the batter before removing throttle body, it will mess up electronic memory if you don't.
You find the throttle body at the end (attached) of all the air intake stuff-- In other words air goes in to your engine via the throttle body, after passing through the air filter apperatus etc.
It is on the throttle body.It is on the throttle body.
