Fat people, where to begin... They get fat by eating too much. WHY they get fat is complex and changes with every fat person. They may be in depression and food 'makes' them happy. They might not be able to tell when they are full and don't need to eat. They might not get any exicersise and he have desk jobs or don't do anything with thier kids or thier friends. The reasons are limitless.....

When glucose reaches the small intestine (after being eaten and then digested), it is absorbed through the lining of the small intestine and ends up in the bloodstream.

When the blood contains the right amount of glucose, the hormone called insulin (from the pancreas) stimulates the liver to convert the excess glucose (which is not needed for the moment) to glycogen and store it in the liver.

If then, more glucose is needed in the blood, another hormone stimulates the liver to release the glucose that it had been storing back into the blood.

This is how the body regulates blood sugar concentration.

However, if there is no more space in the liver for more glucose to be stored, any extra glucose is converted to fat and stored in special fat storage cells throughout the body.

Of course there are other reasons for picking up weight such as lack of exercise, but eating unhealthy food (too much glucose/sugar!) can not only cause people to gain weight, but also cause health problems too. This is why it's so important to eat healthily and to keep exercising.

FACTOR ONE
Eating too many refined processed carbohydrates is mainly what causes people to become overweight or obese. In addition, over-consumption of these foods is a major cause of Heart disease, high blood pressure, insulin resistance, type 2 Diabetes, and many other diet related diseases and conditions.

Moreover, many overweight people (and many normal weight people) both adults and children are addicted to refined processed carbohydrate.

Indeed, most of those foods are deliciously addictive but, nonetheless, we need to learn how to avoid them or strictly limit them apart (from an occasional treat).

An addition to, or an over-consumption of, refined processed carbohydrates, plus a lack of the specific 'fat burning proteins' that control the situation and reverse unwanted weight gain, often leads to compulsive eating, or overeating, food craving for comfort foods, or emotional eating. This can cause people to eat more of those foods, which in turn lead to further weight gain.

Avoid or strictly limit refined processed carbohydrate (apart from an occasional treat). These are very high calorie very high carbohydrate foods. Replace the refined processed carbohydrates with more of the 'specific fat burning proteins' and take full advantage of the thermic effect of these nutritious foods to burn more body fat.

FACTOR TWO
What causes people to become overweight when they eat little food or avoid refined processed carbohydrate?

Well, insulin resistant can cause easy weight gain and make it hard to lose weight. Many overweight or obese adults and children have a degree of insulin resistant often without being aware of it. If you have difficulty losing weight despite making great efforts, gain weight very easily, have a long history of dieting, or have a family history of type 2 diabetes, you may have a degree of insulin resistance (which can range from mild to severe).
