Head gasket
No, it will not cause smoke from the exhaust pipe. However the leaking oil can drip on the exhaust manifold where it will be burnt and smoke.
sounds like a blown gasket, allowing coolant to enter the cylinders.
If what you are decribing is smoke coming from underhood that smells like burnt oil, it may be your valve cover gasket(s) leaking on the hot exhaust manifold. This smell is strong enough to come into the passenger compartment while you drive. It should be repaired. I hope this helps you. Mark
blue smoke can be caused by sticking valves or burnt rings
You may have oil on the exhaust, once this has burnt off the smoke should stop.
probably an exhaust leak, at or near the exhaust manifold
Sounds like you have a coolant leak.
Burning oil
When you smoke it, it smells like burnt marshmallow, and coffee mixed.
Blue smoke is caused by engine oil being burnt by the engine.
found out it was the oil pressure switch dripping down on to exhaust pipe collecting on heat shield, thanx anyway
Could be a diesel? If not then replace your oxygen sensor on your exhaust. A bad oxygen sensor causes the exhaust smoke to be dark in color.
