blacky brown.
When it's new it's usually amber, when it's used it turns black.
I believe it is of the same color as land engine oil
Shell Melina S30 marine engine oil color
It depends on the fluid. Antifreeze is a different color from engine oil.
When engine oil turns gray or milkey cream color, its a sign of moisture in the oil.
not unless there is a significant color change in the oil, might be because of when the oil leaving the engine air is hitting it called aeration
are you sure you are looking at engine oil or is it the tranny fluid(which is reddish brown but there are also synthetic motor oil that are reddish in color but DO NOT MIX regular oil w/synthetic oil make sure of what you have before adding causes major engine problems
You have water in your oil. Possibly from condensation. Run the engine only long enough to warm the oil and change it.
Blue.
under driver seat where the engine is located, you'll see the oil dipstick. It's yellow in color.
Oil pressure as measured by the guage on the dash is usually a measure of the pressure put out by the oil pump and not an indication of a leak or low engine oil level. If you have a leak your best indication of that will be puddles on the ground, on the underside of the engine or a milkiness looking color in the oil (as seen on the dipstick) or in the engine coolant.
It is normal that used engine oil gets a color that is different from the color of new and unused oil. If the color is only brown then it shows that the oil is in good condition. One purpose of engine oil is to absorb chemicals, acids and soot that gets into the oil as a normal part of the combustion process in the cylinders. On very worn engines and in case the oil is old, it may become black. This is also normal as it shows that the oil has absorbed the harmful chemicals that it is intended to catch.
If you intend to keep your vehicle's engine clean, change it every time you change your oil. The filter holds the dirt your engine generates. Hence the dark color of your oil as it ages and is pumped through your engine. Dirt is dirt. Get it out.
