I have a 1986 Suzuki Intruder. I had the same problem. Usually, if the battery has a resource that charges the battery whie you start, (Jumping it) it will do fine ONLY because the batter that you jump the Kawasaki with, it is using the batter that you Jump it with to power it. I would recommend getting a new Battery for the Kawasaki.
AnswerBegin by checking for corrosion and loose connections at the battery, solenoid and starter. Take care when you jump start your bike. If you jump from a car, make sure the car is NOT running. The voltage regulator on the car will increase the output from the alternator to compensate for your weaker system and this can fry your bike's electrics...what is the shift pattern for an 81 kawasaki kz750 & will the transmition shift gears sitting still or does it have to be moving. please and thank you
On the head stock behind the headlight will be stamped into the frame.
No. It calls for a 12AH 12v battery.
Twins are .7-.8mm.
I'm pretty sure if it is the same as the '81 then it is 230cc's.
Ok, being a twin cylinder there are two, up high on the backside (rear) of each head/cylinder. We can't tell you what carbs were on the bike without knowing the exact model you are referring to - the KZ750 came in both two- and four-cylinder engines.
I have the 1982 Kz750 LTD. I am just using Castrol 10w40 car oil. It must be 10w40 or more, 10w30 and lower viscosity oil has an additive in it the will mess up the clutch. So 10w40 is what i would suggest. But you can buy expensive motorcycle oil, but it is pretty much the same.
Most likely the belt. It has probably become worn, flat spots, cracks. Anything.
Have you tried checking the needle and seat in the carb. Sounds like it may be sticking closed. Best way to check this is to remove float bowl and move the float up and down by hand. if needle moves then it should be ok if not try pulling it out of main jet and blow air into it.
you can easily get the service manual online for free (same as the kz750), highly sugggested. cylinder head nuts figures are first 2.5kg.m or 18ft lbs in a criss cross pattern then to 4.0kg.m or 29ftlbs. the bolts are 3.0 kg.m or 22ft.lbs. valve cover figures are 104inlbs or 1.2kg.m. once put back together warm up bike thoroughly then retighten to specs. just changed all gaskets that, was a pretty easy job. good luck

If i understand correctly when you have the clutch lever pulled in and try to kick start it the kick start spins freely. I also have that same issue it has to be in neutral with clutch let out then kick it over, maybe a safety thing
