Can be a defective cell in the battery, or it has shorted out. Can also be a defective alternator not providing enough power to keep the battery charged. Can also be a drain on the battery such as a light staying on. dome light, courtesy light, trunk light under hood light, etc. If the battery is over 4 years old or has been run dead more than once, replace it.
How does it not start? is it cranking? Could be many things, battery, starter, etc.
No, a starter cannot cause a battery to fail to charge. It could cause the battery to discharge quickly.
could be a bad battery
If a windshield wiper switch on a 1995 Buick Riviera stays on when in the off position, it might be the fault of the windshield wiper relay. It could also be that the switch itself needs to be taken off and reset on the dial.
Does it have a funny smell? it could be leaky heater core
Is it overheating. Cheapest is a bad waterpump. Or worse, headgasket blown, or bad motor. Bad crankpulley could cause not to start, but would not cause overheating unless belt came off.
Battery cable connections broken or battery busted.
the battery could have a dead cell, this could cause it to not charge. Have the battery tested to be sure.
Hi, I had this same problem with my 92 Rivi. Ended up being the Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor which was only $30 new, and took me only 5 minutes to change. Shaune.
Yes they could be cleaned and battery charged
My 98 riviera was doing the same I put some stp complete fuel system cleaner and it stopped happening might be worth a try it was only $9
what u could do is take then to a garage so u cold get them changed or smash em that's wat i would do=)
