Note that in 1936 Germany remilitarized the Rhineland. As this was a part of Germany _ but one where the Germans was not allowed to have troops - it was not an invasion or takeover, though it was a breach of the Treaty of Versailles.

Between 1939 and 1941 The Nazis invaded Poland, Czechoslovakia, Romania, and many other eastern and Balkan nations and Greece. He took the western European nations of France, Belgium, Luxembourg, The Netherlands, Denmark, Norway, Finland and Russia. He also took over most of the northern nations of Africa.
