Why Harold Godwinson was better than Harold Hardragar and William of Normandy?
William, duke of Normandy was a better leader because he has more prepared and had better tactics than Harold Godwinson. He was able to adapt to the battle at Hastings, when the Brettons ran from his army he surrounded and killed the group of Saxons who followed them. If Harold had been able to adapt to the battle as well he might have defeated William. Idk ask the people that were there... oh wait............ THEY'RE DEAD!

The Normans should have won the battle of Hastings because they had a better army and they were more prepared for war. Also, William the Conqurer had more reasons to become king then the other monarchs. In the end, it was they who won the battle.

William won because his army had had a lot of rest that day whereas Harold Godwinson's army had only just fought Harald Hadraada's army. William was also a much better team leader - if you compared him with Harold - as he gave his army what they needed when they needed it eg. rest, food and drink.
