According to Quentin Reynolds Churchill never was actually shot down because the six hurricanes that had been dispatched could not find the plane he was in. But that flight was made in a Boeing flying boat.

Churchills' handling of the issue of the return to the Gold Standard (1925 I think) leaves a lot to be desired. Politically before WW2 he endured a period known as the wilderness years: Despite his magnificent oratory in the war Churchill was not always popular, especially within his own party. Although one might regard Churchill as a great leader in Wartime his peacetime policies have been called into question.
Chamberlain stepped down as prime minister in 1940 because he knew he had lost all hope and confidence oh hjis own Conservative party as well as oppposition from the Labour and Liberal partys. You got that question straight out of the text book. Lol the answer is right out of it too :P
Josef Goebbels was the first person to speak of the Iron Curtain. He explained this in his article named The Year 2000 in 1945 saying: "If the German people surrender, the Soviets will occupy . . . the whole east and southeast of Europe in addition to the larger part of the Reich. In front of this enormous territory, including the Soviet Union, an iron curtain will go down . . . The rest of Europe will fall in political chaos which will be but a period of preparation for the coming of Bolshevism.
The Allied Powers of World War 2 were England, Canada, France, China, India, Australia, New Zealand, India, Brazil, Costa Rica, and the United States. They worked together by having a theater commander. In each area, one group of people would be in charge of the theater, and one general (or field marshall) would be in charge of moving the troops about. The same rule applies in NATO. The headquarters are in Europe. The President of NATO is a European (Read Sir Winston Churchill or Winnie). The Supreme Military Commander is an American (Read General Dwight David Eisenhower or Ike). (Winston Churchill said the Allies also had a secret weapon in World War 2, the English Language.)
The Iron Curtain is the term Churchill used to describe the division of Europe. Winston Churchill served as the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.

Winston Churchill's most important contribution was his inspirational leadership. He instilled the British people with the drive to fight. Winston Churchill also created a Grand Alliance with Russia in 1941 and created the War Cabinet to help expedite decisions and actions.
He was a good leader because he never backed down.
Churchill started political life as a Conservative, but in 1904 he joined the Liberal party and served in the Liberal government of 1905. Churchill rejoined the Conservatives in 1924, became leader in 1940 (and Prime Minister leading a coalition government) was elected Prime Minister in 1951 and stood down as Conservative leader (and Prime Minister) in 1955.
the phrase of "an iron curtain has come down" was first coined by sir Winston Churchill
This is a quote by Winston Churchill.

Winston Churchill made this quote.
Look it up sorry can't type for too long broken finger. Winston Churchill had a 'black dog', but not of the canine variety.... Though very found of cats, he also had two poodles: Rufus I and Rufus II.
In 1939, Churchill was a member of the Conservative party, who's leader, Neville Chamberlain, was currently Prime Minister of Britain. Churchill wholly apposed Chamberlains stance on appeasement - bowing to some of the demands of Germany, in return for peace, and/or Germany not invading a certain country. in 1940, when Chamberlain stepped down, Churchill became leader of the Conservative party, and therefore, Prime Minister of Britain. From then on, he was wartime leader of Britain, until the end of the war in 1945.
