If I understand what you are asking, the protestants objected to the selling of indulgences. Indulgences were pieces of paper that people would buy to "ensure" that one of their dead family members would make it to heaven. The protestants saw this as a way the catholic church was making money. They protested against it. Also, Martin Luther posted the 95 theses, which include 95 specific things he wanted the catholic church to change. I don't know what these 95 things were.

-There are a few problems with the post above

First, A indulgence does not get you into heaven, nothing can save you from hell, It can remove time in purgatory, the effects of temporal punishment.

Second We did not sell them as a Church, that is simony, its a mortal sin. (its from The Bible).

Last, you can find the Thesis online, Luther is very much Catholic at the time he wrote it, he only left after the Pope called him a Heretic and excommunicated him.

Catholic AnswerMost of the people known as "protestants" after the revolt did NOT call for reform. There were only a few, and they, for the most part, were doing it because of sin, mostly on their own part. Martin Luther, the "granddaddy" of the protestant revolt, had severe emotional problems, mostly due to the way he was raised, and his problems with his father. There were a few real problems in the Church at that time, but nothing worth losing your salvation over. Henry VIII was another case of a "reformer" calling for "reform" due to his own sin. In both of their cases, their primary sins were sexual, and it is not surprising that they both died from diseases that result from that. For a complete discussion of the problems involved please get "The Facts About Luther" at the link below.

.

Martin Luther's call to reform the Church is know as several things. Among protestants it is know as the beginning of the Protestant reformation, among Catholic historians, it is know as the protestant revolt, I think the best description would be "total disaster". Although his revolt (among other things) did spark the Counter-reformation, and the Council of Trent; it also fragmented the Body of Christ into thousands of squabbling factions, historically depriving millions of souls of the graces available through the Church, and allowing them to be brought up in error and heresy. It is a sad tragedy that the Holy Father and the Church are still trying to repair to this day. Historically, it has not lasted as long as some other heresies in history, but it has probably caused the most damage and tragedy to the most people of any heresy in history.

It is the Catholic Church, not the Roman Catholic Church. Roman is an epithet first used in English in England after the protestant revolt to describe the Catholic Church, it is not a nice comment, and is not used by the official Catholic Church or in any other language.

.

The original protestants basically wanted the Catholic Church to change to fit their conceptions of Christianity. As Christianity was founded by Our Blessed Lord, Jesus Christ in the Catholic Church, with St. Peter and his successors as its visible head, appointed by Our Blessed Lord, Himself (see Matthew 16:17-19) and guided by the Holy Spirit - it cannot change. The Catholic Church remains the visible Body of Christ on earth and is charged by Our Blessed Lord with His teaching. The original protesters wanted a Church that was comfortable for them and did not ask them to change their lives for God, they wanted God to change for them. Martin Luther wanted the Church to accept his personal sins and to be saved anyway. Henry VIII, likewise, wanted the Church to accept his sins. The Catholic Church cannot do this, so they left and formed their own Churches.

This was a phrase associated with protestants in Northern Ireland not wanting to be ruled in a united Ireland. As the Republic of Ireland is Catholic and at one time the Catholic church had a lot of influence in Ireland, the Protestants would have seen it as too much influence by the Roman Catholic Church. Because of that, they preferred to be ruled from Britain, which is Protestant. This was a phrase associated with protestants in Northern Ireland not wanting to be ruled in a united Ireland. Were the early puritans supporters of the Roman Catholic Church?

It's just Catholic, not Roman Catholic. Roman is an epithet first commonly used in England after the protestant revolt to describe the Catholic Church. It is never used by the official Catholic Church. . Of course not, the puritans were protestants who couldn't even abide the Anglican Church, must less the Catholic Church!

What Scriptures did the Catholic Church change in the Bible?

Roman Catholic AnswerYou are operating with a mistaken assumption. The Catholic Church wrote the Bible, the Catholic Church decided which books were canonical (included in the Bible), and the Catholic Church has conserved the Bible through the centuries. The only ones who changed any Scriptures in the Bible are the protestants, who, after fifteen centuries of a Bible preserved by the Catholic Church came along and threw books out of the Bible, and changed the meanings of books they would not throw out.

AnswerThe most-unlikely place to find Protestants would be in the Vatican, the headquarters of the Roman Catholic church. This is because the Romn catholic church was responsible for their separation from the Roman catholic church and subsequent formation in the first place.
