The main religion of India is 'Sanatan-Dharm'; which is now known as Hinduism, and it covers about 80% of the total population. Others are Muslim (13 %) and the rest (about 7%) is Jainism, Christianity, Buddhism and others.
Almost all of the world's religions are represented somewhere in India. The major religion is the traditional Indian worship of Lord Krishna and a pantheon of gods and spirits, known as Hinduism. This religion has many, many variants.

Islam is the second major religion, and a minor religion in India is Christianity with about 2.3% of the population reporting themselves in the census as Christians.

Because of the size of India's population, even a tiny minority religion like Christianity still has 28 million followers.
The most common religion in India is Hinduism. Some Indians are also Muslims, Christians, and Sikhs.
