What different species of flamingos are there?

There are six species of flamingos in the world. These are: * Chilean Flamingo (Phoenicopterus chilensis) * Andean Flamingo (Phoenicopterus andinus) * Greater Flamingo (Phoenicopterus rosius) * Lesser Flamingo (Phoenicopterus minor) * American Flamingo (Phoenicopterus ruber) * James' Flamingo (Phoenicopterus jamesi) All of the above are New World species except for the Greater and Lesser Flamingos, which are found in Africa and Asia. The Chilean Flamingo is found in temperate South America, while the James' and Andean Flamingos live in Peru, Bolivia and Argentina. And finally, the American Flamingo is found in the Galapagos and Caribbean islands.
