if the hamster baby is under three weeks of age, it is helpless. until then, rely on their mother to provide milk and comfort. they may be seem eating poo and tissue. this is normal. in my experience, the mother will never eat her young! you may have heard that she will but it happens very rarely and she will only do it if she feels threatened.
No of course not
No, unless the "big hamster" is the baby's mother. However if you touch the baby hamsters the mother sense your smell and the mother could eat or kill it because of the smell. So don't touch the baby hamsters.
No, usually the mother will eat her babies because she takes care of them.
No because the mother hamster is taking the baby hamsters to a safer place.

If you touch a hamsters babies before you are allowed to, (2-3 weeks usually) the mother will eat it.
only if you touch the babies
A mother hamster has multiple teats on her underbelly. The baby hamsters will latch on to these teats and feed on the mother's milk. After a few weeks the babies will start to eat regular hamster food.
No they won`t.
Baby hamster's only drink their mother's milk and they proceed to eat hamster food once they're weaned.
It is very important that you do not touch the baby hamsters because then the mother will smell human on them, and she will eat the babies. What you need to do is transfer the babies with a plastic spoon or something to another location. The mother will eat her babies. So you want to keep them separate. After the babies are removed, clean the cage as usual.
