is the coolant temperature sensor giving a correct reading to the computer? Is the fan getting power?
first check your coolant level. then check to see if you have a leak, then check to see if you cooling fans are coming on then check if your thermostat is working.
Check the thermal relay for the cooling fans.
Check to make sure the cooling fans are coming on. Possible stuck thermostat, bad rad or waterpump. They are also well known for head gasket leaks.
Check the temperature sensor
I own a 2000 with cooling fan probs check your coolant temp sensor, changed mine and cooling fans work perfect bhasche@yahoo.com
The cooling fans turn on utilizing a temperature sensor and a relay. When the engine gets to a certain temperature the temp sensor closes and the cooling fans come on. Check fuses first. If you have a 12 volt test light, hook up the test light to the connector that goes to the cooling fans once the engine is warmed up and see if the light comes on. If it doesn't, the problem is in the power to the fans, check fuse, sensor and relay. If the light comes on and the fans don't, check for a proper ground (usually a green or black wire attached to a lug and bolted to the car chassis.
have the cooling fans checked out.
Check the relay.
There are two cooling fans in the front of your car. Check to see if they are both coming on when it is overheating. If only one is coming on it either has a bad fan motor, bad sensor that tells it when to come on or maybe only a bad connection at the sensor. You may need a mechanic to check it out unless you know about how electrical systems work relating to cooling fans
Your cooling fans are not coming on, or the clutch fan is bad.
Thermostat is stuck.. Is the cooling fans coming on at 232 degrees? Is the radiator sludged up?
are the cooling fans coming on
