You get tokens to play games, play the games. If your out of tokens get one of your friends to post to their walls that thing where you can get tokens. None of your friends tokens will go, you can only use that friend twice a day. You could give luv. Buy clothing/furniture. And order stock in your store. The last thing you could do is clean your friends pads(only 8 a day)
They can vary greatly in value depending on rarity. A little grand rapids post token sold for $13,000 at action in 2013. The brass Made Beaver tokens can be $500 or more each. While others common HBC tokens have very little value. Consult with a numismatic familiar with HBC tokens for details on specific token values.
To earn gold on smallworlds.com you can either buy it, do the surveys, or save up a bunch of tokens then go to the Trading Post and trade it for gold.
The easiest way to obtain them is to buy them from other users (Shop Wizard/Auctions/Trading Post), but you can also get them from random events.
go to earn saga tokens and what they say......... Earn them by going to the earn saga token screen, or collect them when other people post them, or buy them.

If you take it to a coin dealer they are not willing to pay for it. They will consider it post mint damaged. Your going to want to find a dealer who deals in tokens. Your best bet is to sell on eBay. We've had one in our shop for years for sale at about $3. On eBay they tend to go for that and more. Some have even sold for almost $30.
