your switch cable might be broke you will have to remove your dash
Most vehicles have settings that allow for circulated air to function as a defroster, cooler, or heater, and can be adjusted to come out by the feet, the multi-directional vents (around chest level), and those near the windshield and windows (or sometimes a combination of those locations). The only setting where the air is only blown by the windshield is defrost.
it is normal. when you use the defroster, the air conditioner is also working to help dry the air passing over the windshield. this moisture is condensed by the cool evaporator and drained through the floor of the car.
The water is not circulating through the heater core or you have a control problem. If the heater is putting out heat then it is probably a control problem. If no heat then - water pump out, low on coolant, or maybe the therostat is stuck open.
The knob with multiple pictures is used to control where the air comes out. For example floor, defroster, vents or a combination of two of them. It works through the use of cables, vacuum or electric motors.
no it is manual
The AC is probably coming through the defroster because the air door is stuck. The door is behind the dash and is vacuum controlled. A vacuum leak or bad door will cause this problem.
thats because your blower went out
According to the Owner's Manual, there is no rear A/C control in the 1998 Ford Club Wagon. There is only the option to heat/cool the rear of the vehicle using the FLR setting which allows for maximum airflow to the rear using outside air through the floor ducts. The air will not be cooled below the outside temperature though because the A/C doesn't operate in thismode. here's also the MIX setting which distributes outside air through the windshield defroster ducts and the floor ducts which uses the A/C as well as outside air.
Technically, you don't "drive" through a car was, the car is in neutral and you are moved through. But, as for your question, if the windshield is cracked enough for water to get through, I wouldn't do it.
Answeron drivers side dashboard look through windshield It is not on the drivers side dashboard, therefore one can not see it through the windshield.
they help to keep you:1) from being thrown from your car2) from hitting the dashboard too hard3) in better control of your car(p.14-1)To keep you safer when you have a crash and do not fly through the windshield. Also so that the police know you're safe and you do not get pulled up by them.
No. The heater uses hot engine coolant that is run through what is effectively a small radiator. If the coolant is cold because the engine hasn't yet warmed up, then you are just circulating COLD water through the heater... no harm there. But SOMETIMES the defroster switch also activates the air conditioning system to dry out the air that is blown across the windshield. If the defroster is on when you start the engine it MAY cause the engine to idle a little fast and if the engine doesn't run well in the cold it may contribute to engine stalling. Beyond that, again, no harm there.
