usually a small metal elbow shaped tube thicker than a pencil but smaller than a marker. It will be plugged into a grommet on valve cover/crankcase somewhere with vac. hose attached going to carb/induction. It's a 1-way valve to burn crankcase gases.
where is the pcv valve located at and what does it look like on a 2001 infinity qx4?
if you have a 2.0 spi motor its in the corner of the valve cover. does not look like a old style pcv valve

In one of the valve covers there is an elbow with a rubber hose attached. The elbow is the PCV valve.
It has a breather instead of a valve It is located at the back of the engine and is a block mounted to the engine. It does not look like a traditional PCV. It is deep on the engine block and very difficult to get to.
I can not think of a single case where the PCV is not on the valve cover, look for it there
Pull upward on the hose that the PCV valve is in. The PCV valve will pull out of the hose. The PCV valve is located in the valve cover.
Disconnect the PCV valve tube from the PCV valve.Disconnect the PCV valve electrical connector if it has one.Turn the PCV valve counterclockwise to remove from the valve cover.To install, reverse the removal procedure.
Not sure about the 1989, but 1990-1993 it goes into the valve cover. Look for a hose running to the valve cover and the PCV valve should be what is at the end of it pushed into the valve cover.
