How do you change a D at 45 lf master clutch
Clutch master cylinder, usually located near the brake master cylinder. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I chose the ( 1996 and 2003 ) Ford Escort owners manuals to look at and they show that the brake master cylinder is also used for the hydraulic clutch
For master cylinder, lift the hood, look to the top right corner. It's the smaller of the two (brake master cylinder is the other one). The clutch slave cylinder is on the underside of the transmission.
Look for leaking fluid at the slave or master cylinder.
Should be on firewall next to master cylinder
The clutch master cylinder should be attached to the firewall, nearest the drivers side, inline with the clutch pedal. In the engine compartment, look for a smaller version of the brake fluid reservior.
Drivers side, near the brake master cylinder, Look for a cap that screws on.
look at the right side of the firewall.
Open the hood, and take a look at your firewall. If it has a clutch master cylinder its a hydrolic. If you only see your brake booster and thats it, chances are its a cable clutch. But as a basic rule, if you have a master and slave cylinder it is hydrolic.
In most cases they leak hydraulic oil out the back of the cylinder. Crawel up and under the drivers side clutch pedal area and look for fluid leaking inside where the clutch actuator rod enters the back of the clutch master cylinder. It should be dry.
The clutch release ("throw-out") bearing has gone bad...Use a new clutch disc when you replace the clutch release bearing...or it could be the clutch master cylinder. Check the master cylinder first...Look for any sign of leakage from either component .
Most of the time it is because of a bad slave cylinder that does not hold pressre or is leaking. They use brake fluid and to check them look at the CLUTCH MASTER CYLINDER near the firewall.
look at your clutch master cylinder and check fluid, if low ,check your slave cylinder for leaks ,its bolted on your transmission with 2 bolts ,its at where the boot is ,if leaking ,then replace ,if not then u will need anew clutch.
