they are probably embarrassed, or maybe one of there friends have said something..or maybe they are just having a bad day! Really he is grotesque. He should not be smacking you on the butt first off. If he ignores you it could have possibly been a bet. I would see it as a compliment but be offended by it. He has no right touching you in this manner! Most young men know better. Sounds like he's showing off and is ego-tripping and figures you're lucky he's even paying attention to you. It's obvious his parents didn't teach him better manners when it came to women. The next time he does it tell him to get lost and hopefully when you do there are others around to hear your response.
