You may have a blown head gasket, or less likely a cracked engine block. In either case, some symptoms are a loss of power/ rough running engine and white exhaust smoke.

What is the clear liquid not water leaking from the bottom of your 2001 Chevy Suburban's Engine?

You engine contains coolant, oil, transmission fluid, P/S fluid, brake fluid, gasoline, & windshield washer fluid. Smell of the fluid, and if it has no smell it is not gasoline. If it is not slick to the touch it is not oil, transmission fluid, or P/S fluid. So that leaves brake fluid, or windshield washer fluid. Brake fluid does have a slight smell, and may be slightly slick, if you pay close attention. Look at the area it is coming from and this is a clue to what is leaking. Try laying a piece of white paper under the vehicle and see what it looks like on paper. The smell of gasoline comes from the vapors it gives off. In time, the smell should disappear naturally. If you'd like to speed that process up, a good cleaning with a saddle soap will help.

How do you know if a diesel engine is burning oil it has been smoking since I had the oil changed the smoke is white but smells like burnt fuel?

The main part of diesel fuel is kerosene, which produces thick black smoke, and gives that smell that is commonly associated with diesel. most likely if it is white smoke, it is antifreeze, if it has a blue tint to it, it is oil. the smell of burnt diesel is rather strong so it could cancel the burnt oil smell, or on the other hand it could be coolant, because burned coolant doesn't have a strong smell. I would check your coolant and oil levels, and check your coolant for having oil in it.

Car Air conditioner emitting strong pungent odor?

Turn on the heat, and see if the same smell is there. The most likely cause is a coolant leak in the heater core, causing the coolant fumes to get into the ac.

Can you smell a coolant leak at the head gasket?

The head gasket sits between the head and the engine block if it is leaking out where you can see the coolant, yes you can smell the coolant if it is leaking into the engine no you cannot smell the coolant. You can check the oil to see if it has coolant in the oil if it does then the head gasket might be blown.
