Something physical that makes a bounary might be a river or mountain system: Compare, for example the US border with Mexico, principally the Rio Grande, and the US/Canadian border: A line of Latitude. The River to the south is a physical boundary while the 58th Parallel is a straight line. & of course, the Great Lakes are physical objects too., though only lake Michigan is wholly in the US. I trust my Colonial Cousins will put me right if this Limey has got it wrong !
