I have a 1993 Protege. The hold button keeps the transmission from up shifting. I use it when I am coming down the hill in my neighborhood. Rather than braking the hold button keeps the trans in a lower gear and I remain at a safe neighborhood speed.
My 92 Protege didn't have a block heater, I had to get one installed.
Use a hammer.
Lug: 5X114.3 assuming lug pattern
there isn't clutch oil only transmission and engine oil

Not 100% sure but I think its the relay on top of the fuse box right over the pedals on the RHD models - for Mazda 323 diesel. Casper I replaced this on my 92 protoge and it is behind the radio
I believe, but don't quote me on this, that the hold button is just for holding the overdrive off for around town driving. You can still shift manually by going thru first, second, drive then pushing the hold button which would allow the overdrive gear to come on. In saying that i don't think overdrive works under 60kmh/35mph.
Sorry guys but from experance with 2.0 DOHC 16 valve that blinking hold light means your transmission is about to stop working with mine it started blinking and with in a half an hour of driven the tranny breaks and you loose all gears and the only way to fix is a new transmission or to have it completely rebuilt and a new one from Mazda is about $2100
How do you replace fuel pump 92 Mazda pick up B2200?
On my 92, you turn off radio, then hold down the little "set" button to right of radio/clock, then, with other hand, hold either search or scan button for hours or minutes
WIKI this - 92 to 2003
If it is leaking or noisy then it is bad. You should also be able to see the coolant flow with the engine cool and radiator cap off. Give it time to warm up and you will see the movement of coolant if it is working.
