There is no evidence that Protestantism was ever banned officially by any of the thirteen original colonies. There are occasional examples of Catholicism being banned by the Church of England before the Revolution, but never the reverse. The colony of Maryland, which was established by Catholics, may have had some reason to ban Protestantism, or even followers who espoused the idea, but there is no evidence that it was ever done.
