Frequent exposure to religious meetings with other believers and Christians is a great aid in reinforcing my own beliefs and my faith. Reading The Bible and other religious tracts is another valueable aid in staying close to God and Christ.

Religion affects me by bringing me closer to feel the love and compassion of God.

It depends on which religion you follow.

A religion does not necessarily admit the existence of a god or gods, in which case you would not have a relationship with a god.

A Christian/Biblical perspective:

Your "religion" is your relationship to or fear of God with outward expression of piety (devotion and reverence). Though a monotheist (believer in one God) would not use "fear of the gods" to describe Judaism, the expression is natural on pagan lips ( Acts 25:19). In Acts 26:5 and Jas. 1:26-27, religion is "fear of God" as evidenced in religious conduct, particularly ritual practice. The religious observance God cares about is not a cultic matter but an ethical matter, like care of the helpless of society (John 9:31, Acts 13:43, 1 Tim. 2:10; 3:16; 5:4, 2 Tim. 3:5).

A Muslim perspective:

he/she is right but I want to add other point that the effect of religion depends on the scope of religion too. among different religion, Islam is the last one witch covers all aspect of a Muslim life. so the effect of religion in this religion on your life is more than others.

It is better if a married or dating couple to share the same beliefs, faith, morals, and values. It is easier on the relationship and gives them a common foundation.
