Can you change a vtec engine in a 1994 Honda Civic for a standard 16 valve engine from another Honda Civic without having to worry about the computer and fuel rail affecting the performance of the car?
This all depends on which 16 valve engine you swap in (Honda has made dozens of them). In short though the fuel rail should be fine (and are fairly universal among Honda civics). If you swap in for another single cam motor (D-series) around the same year then your current computer will run the car, but just get an ecu to match the motor from a local junk yard if you want it to run perfect.

Where is the starter located on a 94 honda civic?
The starter on a 94 Honda Civic is located under the engine. The starter is a six inch thick cylinder that is attached to the flywheel. The easiest way to find it is to locate your battery, pinch with your fingers the ground battery cable (black cable). This cable will run to the underside of the engine and is connected to the starter.
