The decision by Hitler and the leaders of the Nazi Party began to open Death Camps early on in WW2. The main purpose was to exterminate Jews in Europe by using gas chambers and then cremating the bodies after actually going so far as removing gold from the victims teeth. Jews from all areas under Nazi control were carted off by railways to the various "concentration camps" throughout mostly in Eastern Europe. The pretense was that these were "work camps". The camps were also used few cruel medical experiments. Other peoples deemed to be expendable such as crippled people or gypsies were also victims of the death camps. In some areas, the death camps were not necessary. As example the ghetto established in Warsaw, Poland served as places of starvation and executions by firing squads for Jewish people trapped there. Each day, corpses of the dead were carted off to clear the streets of the ghetto.

In no time in history were so many millions ( six approximately ) of people who became victims of Nazi genocide in such a short period of time. This grim period of time was labeled the Holocaust.

There are not enough words to describe this disgrace that happened in modern times.

The only thing that came a bit close was the 2 million Armenians killed in the Middle East. The genocide there was early on in the 20th Century.
