Warm up your muscles with 15 minutes of cardio activity. Never stretch cold muscles. Jog, cycle, swim or walk briskly before stretching. Start with the muscles in your upper body and complete shoulder, bicep, tricep, neck, chest and back stretches. Move to the lower body and perform core, glute, hip, hamstring, quad, calf, ankle and foot stretches.
Start out with a dynamic warm-up, then stretch all the muscles in your body that you know of! Try yoga, aerobics, and stretch in the morning and before you go to bed!

I guess when you are doing stretching exercises, at that time yoou may feel pain or you may not be comfortable.
We were doing calisthenic exercises at PE.
Improve your flexibility and range of motion (helps prevent injuries) by doing strength exercises with a full range of motion, unless you are in rehabilitation. Rehab exercises are done to restore your full range of motion. It is a misconception that strength training makes your body's muscles tight and inflexible. This won't happen if you consistently improve your joints' range of motion and perform exercises with full range of motion. You can be strong and flexible. Doing regular stretching and flexibility exercises also improves your range of motion.

There are quite a few advantages to using an excercise ball as part of your work-out. It can be used to strengthen your core muscles and increase your flexibility. It is a light weight piece of gym equpiment that can be used at home or while traveling.
To help maintain normal joint movement and relieve stiffness you can use range-of-motion exercises to help increase flexibility. Strengthening, e.g. weights, can help with muscle strength and protect joints affected by arthritis. Stretching your muscles and doing aerobics will certainly help arthritis.
