There are many factors that influence how boys and girls differ from educational experiences but two factors come to mind right off the bat. One factor I would have to say could be identified as being past down from generation to generation. Kauchak (2005) says, "Fathers are rougher with their sons and involve them in more physical stimulation and play; they tend to be gentler with their daughters and off more sex-stereotyped toys, such as dolls and stuffed animals". Many outcomes of how boys and girls turn out depend on how each is treated, which depends on how the generation before them were treated in most cases. Many sons and daughters will carry out what their parents have done.

With educational decisions, many sons will go to college if their fathers have gone, or the sons will carry out the trade that their fathers have done.
