Life for the crusaders was difficult. During the journey itself they often went without enough food, and water. It was also often a violent life. While there were short periods of peaceful times, there were more times when there was fighting. Loss of life in these battles was a constant threat.
They ate dried food because they travelled for a long time and sometimes stole from other cites
The Crusaders often did not have enough food to eat. They ate vegetables, grain, any game they could find as well as edible plants and berries in the countryside.

Mostly knights and soldiers went on the Crusades. In the Children's Crusades (1202) England sent children to try and capture Jerusalem, but they never returned. But in most of the Crusades Knights and soldiers went with their huge armies to go and fight the Muslims so they could get Jerusalem(the Holy Land) back, and they thought that the Muslim religion was wrong.
Foods to eat are natural foods. Foods not to eat are junk food and less healthier foods.
People died, so there were no soldiers to fight in the crusades, so the crusades fell apart. Also many soldiers returned home to find their family taken by the plague. It also broke the religious will of the soldiers. Many were fighting because they were trying to please the Pope and God. They thought God sent the plague, so He must not like the crusadce
All the soldiers that fought in the Crusades were Crusaders, and you could identify them by the red cross on their white cloth over their armor. Christians and Muslims:)
The Crusades were the battle and a battle does not fight, soldiers in the battle fight. If your question was asking what the Crusaders were fighting for and who they were fighting against see the below link.
