The MAP sensor on a 1996 Ford Explorer 5.0 is located on top of the engine near the throttle body. It is bolted to the engine and also has a wiring harness attached to it.

I'm not a mechanic / technician but I checked www.motorcraft.com ( all 3 engines ) and it does not list a MAP sensor
Look on the back of the fuse box cover. The map for fuses is usually there.
I have a 1995 Ford Explorer XLT - 4.0 L - OHV engine and I don't believe it has a MAP sensor , it has a mass airflow sensor inside the plastic housing between the air filter and the rubber air intake tube
www. motorcraft. com ( no spaces ) does not list a MAP sensor for the 5.0 L (302 )
They could be burned out.
Take the old one out, and put thenew one in! Easy, right?
