The Cambodian genocide, between 1975 to 1979, started when a Communist group, Khmer Rouge, seized control of Cambodia. The leader, Pol Pot, exercised extreme martial law on the people and executed adults and children across the country.

The Cambodian genocide took place from 1975 to 1979. Somewhere between 1.5 million and 3 million people were murdered by the Khmer Rouge regime. The goal of the regime was to create an agrarian society.

The Cambodian genocide started when the prime minster Pol Pots wanted to cleanse Cambodia of all impurities.

The Khmer Rouge came to power form 1975 to 1979.

Approximately 2 million died.(21% of Cambodia's population.)

Pol Pots and the Khmer Rogue were overthrown by Vietnam when the invaded its capital city Kampuchea.
