Transmission may not shift right are even go into over-drive.
Vehicle speed reading may be wrong are not work. Check engine light should come on.
its in the glove box
It is screewed into the transfur case.
That is the anti locking brake sensor / wheel speed sensor
that year model doesnt need or come with a vehicle speed sensor, however it does have a rear wheel speed sensor
check for a faulty speed buffer module
What happens with the speedometer is that the speed sensr wares down and has to be replaced. The speed sensor is located to the back of the engine. Take the clip off, then take a 10mm socket and take the bolt holding the speed sensor to the engine off. Then replace the sensor with a new one bolt it into place. Put the clip back on and it should work. The speed sensor is one of the main reasons why it doesnt work.
How far off is it? Did you change tire/wheel size? Bad speed sensor.
If a transmission speed sensor fails, the transmission will default to second gear.
Speedometer either doesnt work, is erratic or works when it wants to. This may also cause erratic shifting in the transmission or transmission to stay in 2nd gear when in drive.
If the speed sensor is broken several things can happen. The speedometer will not work and the transmission may not shift correctly.
it doesn't work!!
Two possible speed sensors, one would be the vehicle speed sensor (VSS) in which case the speedometer and the odometer would stop working and the automatic transmission may not shift at the proper shift points. The other speed sensors would be the wheel speed sensors for the ABS, in which case the ABS light would illuminate and the ABS would not function.
