If it is a diesel: The greater the amount of engine oil in the mix, the more likely it will cause the engine to run poorly. If it is used engine oil, contaminants in the oil will clog the fuel filter which will need to be replaced after the oil is gone.
If it is just a little bit of oil in a gasoline tank: As you drive over bumps the fuel pickup will take some of the oil and burn it along with the gasoline. If you have fuel injection, deposits may form on the fuel injectors which will need to be cleaned to avoid a poor idle or hard starting condition. Deposits may also form on the spark plug electrodes which will need to be cleaned and regapped if they use a single ground electrode or replaced if they use dual or quad ground electrodes. If it is used engine oil, contaminants in the oil will clog the fuel filter which will need to be replaced after the oil is gone.
If it is a considerable amount of oil in a gasoline tank: The oil will tend to be too thick for the fuel pump and it will not pump properly. The oil can also damage the fuel filter and clog carburetor/fuel injectors. The oil will not burn as gasoline normally would so your engine will not run. Your spark plugs will be coated in oil. If you run or try to run the engine long enough you can also get too much oil in the cylinders for the engine to even crank over (hydraulic lock) which could potentially cause physical damage (pieces broken off) to engine components, the transmission, or the starter. All of the oil will have to be removed from the tank, fuel lines, and inside the cylinders and the fuel filter replaced before further damage presents itself.
This is BAD. You must not try to run the car, if the bleach gets into the engine then it will cause serious damage. Yo will have to have the gas tank replaced.
The Tampon will expand, absorbing gas in the tank , and will eventualy get sucked into the fuel pump and block the flow of gas to the engine so the car won't run.
The engine may not start and/or have poor performance. Drain gas tank and fill with proper fuel.
damage engine no.. will the engine run no.
Any foreign objects in a gas tank will eventually clog the out take of the tank and cause the fuel pressure to drop effectively preventing the gas from reaching the engine and stalling the car. Removing them is costly since it requires removing the gas tank to drain it and clean the foreign objects out.
Piping from the gas tank in the back of the car leading up to the engine then go through a fuel injector into the engine.
if you put ketchup in your gas tank the car will not work appropriatlley because when u put gas the ketchup will probbaly pulg up the car
Soda will plug the fuel filter and injectors, and yes the engine will not run.
Someone probably put sugar in your gas tank.
Nothing happens to the engine but the gasoline gets old. Before you park the vehicle add some fuel storage treatment to the gas tank and run it for a few miles.
The inside of the gas tank will shine like new, but the fuel lines, fuel pump, and engine will be need to be cleaned out.
Your "check engine" light will probably come on. This interferes with the evaporation controls on the fuel tank, and will send an error message to the computer in the car.
