no power brakes....harder to stop
hydraulic brake booster (power brakes)
You need to bleed the brakes.
Check for a vacuum leak Check the check valve on the power brake booster
Still under warranty. This is their problem. Have them check the power brake booster.
If you have power brakes look where the large hose that goes to the brake booster connects to the engine and that is your main vacuum source.
Generally when a booster goes out, you have to use your full leg to push the brake pedal down. It becomes very stiff.
replace brake booster
try checking the valve in the vacum brake booster. If it goes bad, it will dump your vacum and make your engine stall while pushing the brakes.
The Honda CRX, as in many vehicles has the power brake booster relying on engine vacuum. A vacuum system problem, or with the booster can cause series changes in idle and drivability. Brakes are a critical safety component so this situation must be checked by qualified mechanic promptly.
No brake pressure usually means one of 3 things... Air in brake line... Mastercylender (when this goes bad it lets fluid return back into the mastercylender insted of allowing it to put pressure on the brakes) or it could be the break booster.
If the brake shoes measure less than 4/32nds thickness, if cracking or warping is observed on the brake drums, if the brake shoes and/or drums become coated in oil (as is what happens when a wheel seal goes bad), or if you hear escaping from the brake chambers when the brakes are released, then you know at least one component in the brake system is bad.
Brake Fluid.
