What does hydrogen peroxide and sugar do?

The reaction of common household hydrogen peroxide is rather boring. But pure H2O2 (hydrogen peroxide) mixed with sugar which is C12H22O11 results in the production of H2O and CO2.

What happens when you put an orange peel in hydrogen peroxide?

Thought I was doing some all natural cleaning mixture. Read about using orange peels, vinegar, hydrogen peroxide, etc. Got confused and mixed hydrogen peroxide and grapefruit peels in a sealed jar. Lid swoll up and finally got open. Don't think I will be using to clean anything in my house! Thought I read somewhere that it makes the equivalent of a very strong bleach for cleaning tough stains.

What is the pH of 3 percent hydrogen peroxide and water solution?

Since the dissociation constant for hydrogen peroxide is 2.4 x 10^-12 (very very small) if only a 3% concentration were to be mixed with water the pH would be negligible. However the main reason Hydrogen peroxide stings when you spill or pour it on a cut to disinfect it is because of its fairly high reactivity.

What happens if acid is mixed with magnesium?

they will form a magnesium salt and hydrogen gas

Where can you get 6 percent hydrogen peroxide?

There are many kinds of hydrogen peroxide of different concentrations. Often 35% (high concentration) hydrogen peroxide is 'Technical Grade' and 'Electrical Grade'. People who use hydrogen peroxide for health reasons should be aware that there are chemical stablisers which can be harmful. The ONLY safe hydrogen peroxide for health, home and garden is FOOD GRADE. There are number of companies selling quality 35% Food Grade Hydrogen Peroxide online - but be sure you do some research on it's use. Highly concentrated 35% can cause nasty burns if used directly undiluted. However, 500ml of 35% makes 6 litres of the commonly used 3%.

What happen when a raw potato is mixed with hydrogen peroxide?

The enzyme is catalase. It can exist without adding hydrogen peroxide. The hydrogen peroxide simply activates the enzyme.

What happens in each indivdual hair shaft when an aniline derivative tint is mixed with hydrogen peroxide?

Hydrogen peroxide opens the hair follicle, allowing the aniline tint to 'catch' the hair shaft. When allowed to sit, the aniline is absorbed into the shaft, changing the color.

What happens when hydrogen sulphide is mixed with oxygen?

Is hydrogen peroxide a compound or elements or mixture?

H2O2 is a covalent compound, as a pure sample of it cannot be split into other separate compounds by physical means. However, the bottle labeled "Hydrogen Peroxide" in your medicine cabinet is actually a mixture (it's about a 3% solution of hydrogen peroxide the compound in water). I hope i could help out :)

What would occur if you mixed corn syrup corn oil rubbing alcohol hydrogen peroxide and water together?

Well, if you mixed rubbing alcohol with hydrogen peroxide it could produce a risk of creating VERY harmful chlorine gases. So I don't advise you to try it.
