Nothing will happen to the car if you disconnect the knock sensor. It just will not detect a problem if there happens to be one.
You can replace the oxygen sensor on a 2002 lincoln LS by first unplugging the old one and then making sure the tread marks are lined up replace it with the new one.
you can't fix a sensor, you can replace one by removing it and installing the new one...:)

You have two O2 sensors. The most common one to replace is the one on the exhaust manifold on the passenger side. (about $50) Pull off sensor connector plug. Unscrew it. Screw new one in. Re-attach sensor plug.

The speed sensor is located on the side of the transmission. It has a black plastic teardrop shape to it. It has one bolt that needs to be removed to replace it.

You need to remove the serpentine belt and alternator in order to get the crank sensor; one 10mm bolt holds it. It is easy to replace.
The speed sensor is not expensive and is easy to replace.
