What if you live together for a couple of years then decided you just wanted to be friends then later one of you wants the other to move out can the other fight it like a divorce?

If you lived together as husband and wife according to your states common law marriage requirements you will need to get a legal divorce in order to move with your lives as single persons. Check your local laws on common law marriage, or get a free consultation with a divorce lawyer.

Georgia (if created before 1/1/97)
Idaho (if created before 1/1/96)

US laws take precedence, therefore if the couple were legally married in the US and legally divorced in the US, then the divorce is valid. If the couple lived together as a couple (engaging in a sexual relationship, sharing mutual finances, etc.) at the time the divorce was pending then the divorce is not valid.
