The best thing to do would be to download a trusted antivirus protection software (I suggest Norman Virus Control). If this isn't an option, look through your download folders and delete anything you think shouldn't or doesn't need to be there. Another thing you could do would be to open the Task Manager with Ctrl-Alt-Del and check for processes that look suspicious and are lagging your computer up. Check online before ending them, though - you don't want to accidentally break it! Finally, make sure not to use the internet on your infected computer for anything important (e.g. paying bills, logging in to your important email, etc.) because anything you type in can be recorded by the virus.
