in late 19 century and until 1. world war, slovenia was part of big country in central Europe called austro-ogrska (this is in slovenia language). After first world war this country fell apart and we were in Another Country called "kingdom srbs, croatians and slovenians". Yea we had a king. Then came 2. world war, when northeastern side of slovenia was very damaged beacause in city of maribor they were building truck and tanks for german beacuse city was ocupiyed by hitler, so american where druping bombs and city was all in ruins. Very important thing in 2. world war is that in slovenia there was last battle of 2.world war in europe. It was at border crosing with Austria called "holmec". After war italy took hole west part of slovenia for them selves and people who lived there were forced to change their names is italians. But today that part is back with slovenia. In late 1980 marshal tito died and around 1990 yugoslavia was beging to fall aapart. On 25 june 1991 slovenia staited that we are independet from yugoslavia and we had big celebration in square in ljubljana. Next day war began. Yugoslav army was actully in military facilities in slovenia already and they just began to driving outside with tanks. Their goal was to drive to the border with austria and italy and block the border. And then they will send army from beograd and we could not run away. But they didnt make it and after 10 days war ended. This was acutally one of shortest war in human histrory(propably in top 10). On 1maj 2004 we became member of europe union and in 2007 we got EURO for valute. Slovenia was till 2008 fastest grouing economy country in europe union, but we were sruck pretty hard by recesy so today we struglle to survive and it seems we gona make it.
