From the cylinders, 4 individual exhaust passages converge into 2 passages and finally collect into 1.
There are actually 4 of them . 1) on the LEFT exhaust manifold. 2) on the RIGHT exhaust manifold. 3) Just BEFORE the catalytic convertor. 4) Just AFTER the convertor
probably 3/8 by 2 1/4 3/8-16
Bank 2 is the passenger side head. Look at where the exhaust pipe bolts to the exhaust manifold there will be a o2 sensor just below it screewed into the exhaust pipe, that will be #1 02 sensor.
4. 1 before the precat in each exhaust manifold and 1 following the precat in each exhaust manifold. The main cat under the car is not monitored by the ECU.
More information is needed to answer this question properly, such as; is the engine a 4 or 6 cylinder. In the case of a 6 cylinder, their are 2 exhaust manifolds; the front exhaust manifold is located under the hood between the radiator and the engine: when you check your oil level by grasping the dipstick your hand will be just a few inches above the exhaust manifold. Basically, follow the exhaust pipe(s) to the engine and where it connects to a device that splits the exhaust 3 or 4 ways, that device is your exhaust manifold.
Its on the exhaust pipe just below the exhaust manifold. It will have a wire coming out of it. Cant miss it.you have (4) o2 sensors 2 on each side of the exhaust,2 before the cat called bank 1..... and 2 ehind the cat called bank 1.That year only has 2 NOT 4
In the exhaust pipe, near the manifold. The 4 cylinder has 2, the V6 has 4.
there are 2 sensors 1 is in the exhaust manifold at the very front with 1 wire coming out of it and one behind the catalytic converter with 4 wires
it is on the exhaust manifold just before the y pipe on the and the manifold meet can't miss it has 2 wires coming out of it and kind of looks like a spark plug on the end
NO! Definitely NOT! At least not by a considerable amount. A turbo charged car performs best when removing the entire exhaust system. Although I can’t advice you to do that..
If it's a 6 cylinder there will be two banks, left and right or 1 and 2 as they're calling them, then there will be a front and a rear sensor, or sensors 1 and 2. If it's a 4 cylinder there will only be 1 bank with a front and a rear sensor. With that out of the way... The front sensor is typically screwed into the EXHAUST manifold, typically somewhere near the junction where all of the exhaust lines come together. It should be the only thing on the exhaust manifold that has a wire connected.
4 sensors total. 2 upstream on either side of exhaust manifold, 1 left side downstream, 1 right side downstream.
