Coil on plug refers to the 2000, and up vortecs, and other manufacturers as well, 1 coil per plug, connected with a short wire. It is an awesomely efficient, system, but requires the onboard computer to make it work. For a 68, an MSD, (multiple spark discharge) would work well, will minor modifications. They make a few models, so I would contact them direct for assistance. You will probably have to get an Auto Meter Monster tach, there are few compatible with this equipment, but, the upgrade will provide more power, longer plug life, more effecient at higher rpms, and better economy.
