IC recessed fixtures can be covered with insulation. Since insulation can be in direct contact with the fixture housing they reduce energy loss. The old type fixtures had to have a box of non combustable material built over the fixture for fire-proofing. Recessed fixtures have come a long way.
That condition is called a "ground fault". That's when the insulation of the motor winding has a break somewhere, allowing current to leak to the motor housing. The motor SHOULD be grounded, protecting the user from electrical shock, but many older motors were not grounded, providing the potential for just this type of condition. Newer motors are often "double insulated", meaning that not only is the motor winding insulated, the motor housing is also insulated. Often the housing of a double insulated motor is made of a type of plastic.

IC means Insulated Ceiling. A non-IC can needs the insulation pulled back away from it so it won't overheat. An IC can may touch the insulation.
Pull out the lock on the blower motor resistor wire harness connector to unlock the connector latch . Depress the latch on the blower motor resistor wire harness connector and disconnect the connector from the resistor. Remove the two screws that secure the blower motor resistor block to the HVAC housing. Remove the resistor block from the HVAC housing............

Always support the starter motor during this process. Do not let the starter motor hang from the wire harness. # Remove the battery positive cable eyelet terminal from the solenoid B(+) terminal stud. Always support the starter motor during this process. Do not let the starter motor hang from the wire harness. # Disconnect the battery positive cable solenoid terminal wire harness connector from the connector receptacle on the starter solenoid. Always support the starter motor during this process. Do not let the starter motor hang from the wire harness. # Remove the starter motor from the automatic transmission torque converter housing. == == # Position the starter motor to the automatic transmission torque converter housing. # Reconnect the battery positive cable solenoid terminal wire harness connector to the connector receptacle on the starter solenoid. Always support the starter motor during this process. Do not let the starter motor hang from the wire harness. # Install the battery positive cable eyelet terminal onto the solenoid B(+) terminal stud. Tighten the nut to 13.6 N·m (120 in. lbs.) Always support the starter motor during this process. Do not let the starter motor hang from the wire harness. # Position the hole in the starter motor lower mounting flange over the stud on the automatic transmission torque converter housing. # Slide the automatic transmission cooler tube bracket rearward on the tubes and into position over the starter motor upper mounting flange. # Loosely install the screw and washer unit that secures the starter motor upper mounting flange to the automatic transmission torque converter housing. # Loosely install the lock washer and nut that secures the starter motor lower mounting flange to the stud on the automatic transmission torque converter housing. # Tighten the screw and washer unit and the nut that secure the starter motor mounting flange to the automatic transmission torque converter housing. Tighten the screw and the nut to 67.8 N·m (50 ft. lbs.) # Lower the vehicle. # Reconnect the battery negative cable. == # Position the starter motor to the automatic transmission torque converter housing. # Reconnect the battery positive cable solenoid terminal wire harness connector to the connector receptacle on the starter solenoid. Always support the starter motor during this process. Do not let the starter motor hang from the wire harness. # Install the battery positive cable eyelet terminal onto the solenoid B(+) terminal stud. Always support the starter motor during this process. Do not let the starter motor hang from the wire harness. # Install and tighten the nut that secures the battery positive cable eyelet terminal to the starter solenoid B(+) terminal stud. Tighten the nut to 13.6 N·m (120 in. lbs.) Always support the starter motor during this process. Do not let the starter motor hang from the wire harness. # Position the starter motor mounting flange on the automatic transmission torque converter housing and loosely install the two screw and washer units to secure it. # Tighten the two screw and washer units that secure the starter motor mounting flange to the automatic transmission torque converter housing. Tighten the screws to 67.8 N·m (50 ft. lbs.) # Lower the vehicle. # Reconnect the battery negative cable.

Remove 2 support bracket bolts at transmission. Pry support bracket slightly to gain access to lower starter mounting bolt. # Remove one bolt and one nut if equipped with a manual transmission. # Move starter motor towards front of vehicle far enough for nose of starter pinion housing to clear housing. Always support starter motor during this process, do not let starter motor hang from wire harness. # Tilt nose downwards and lower starter motor far enough to access and remove nut that secures battery positive cable wire harness connector eyelet to solenoid battery terminal stud. Do not let starter motor hang from wire harness. # Remove battery positive cable wire harness connector eyelet from solenoid battery terminal stud. # Disconnect battery positive cable wire harness connector from solenoid terminal connector receptacle. # Remove starter motor.# Disconnect and isolate negative battery cable. # Raise and support vehicle. # Note: If equipped with 4WD and certain transmissions, a support bracket is used between front axle and side of transmission. Install and tighten battery cable eyelet nut . Do not allow starter motor to hang from wire harness. # Position starter motor to transmission. # Install and tighten lockwasher nut and bolt . # Lower vehicle. # Connect negative battery cable.# Connect solenoid wire to starter motor (snaps on). # Position battery cable to solenoid stud. Install and tighten battery cable eyelet nut . Do not allow starter motor to hang from wire harness. # Position starter motor (4) to transmission. # If equipped with automatic transmission, slide cooler tube bracket into position. # Install and tighten both bolts . # Lower vehicle. # Connect negative battery cable.
follow the wiring harness towards the pass. side of the engine compartment from the distributor,it only leads to one thing!!! If you have an A/C equipped model like I do, the SPOUT connector is right up against the evaporator housing on the engine side, hanging out of a wire harness. It's a black connector shell with 2 short yellow/green wires on one end, and a removable plug on the other. It's taped to the side of the harness, but not wrapped in it.
Locate the resistor under the dash attached on the blower motor housing. Disconnect the wire harness connector. Remove the resistor and install a new one.
It is inside the electrical plug at the transmission. You need to remove the battery, battery shelf, complete air cleaner housing and bracket. Once you unbolt the electrical connection you need to remove the the sockets from inside the connector housing then you can split the sockets. The speed sensor is the socket at the top of the housing (furthest away from the incoming harness)
The Ford F450 OBD connector can be found on the top of the engine. The ODB connector will be near the air intake housing.

Remove light protective cover by twisting counter clockwise Remove light bulb by twisting connector counter clockwise Pinch metal clips and remove wiring harness do not touch new bulb with fingers reinsert in housing connect wiring harness reverse above steps to complete process
For the Gauge, use the One that has only one terminal that is a flat blade connector. And should be mounted on the side of the intake manifold under the Thermostat housing. The other 2 are temperature detect switches. They are for the EGR System.
