Direct Expansion. It has refrigeration coils INSIDE the air handler, instead of separate like a split-system. Also, not using chilled water from a separate chiller as many non-dx air handlers do.

The basic answer is the standard features. The DX is the lowest version with limited standards. LX added things like delayed wipers, power door locks, air conditioning and cruise control. EX is the top of the line and includes all the features of the LX plus a sunroof and variable speed wipers.

I guess you would have to answer that. Consider where you live and normally commute, and will you install the a/c system or have someone install it? I installed the Honda a/c system on my '94 Accord DX when it was new...it was the easiest install I ever have done. All of the parts fit like a glove, flawless. Good luck
