there should be 3 bolts holding the halfshaft to the backside of the engine block. unbolt and pull halfshaft out of tranny
Most use a "C" clip or a snap ring that keeps the halfshaft in the transaxle firmly, but will allow the removal of the halfshaft with a little effort.
Assuming this is a front wheel drive vehicle, you probably have a worn CV joint in the passenger side halfshaft. Replace the halfshaft with a rebuilt one.

on the manual, it is behind the engine attached to the transmission, near the passenger halfshaft.
Remove tire, Large bolt on the end the the half shaft, then lower ball joint, then pull the rotor and strut away from the car while pushing the half shaft out of the rotor and using a pry bar between the halfshaft and transmition pry out the axle. Then install new.
Buy a new CV Axle Halfshaft and a new axle nut comes with it.
Normally a wheel or halfshaft bearing will whine at speed and will grind at all speeds, when severely worn.
Replace the complete halfshaft assembly, it is much easier than trying to replace the cv joint itself.
