It depends on what you will be using it for. If you plan to just browse internet and maybe do some typing 80GB is more than enough. If you plan to put any games or download music you may want to go with more like 200GB. If you have anything important I would also buy an external hard drive then you can go from computer to computer and have extra storage. The size of an external also would depend on what you would put on it. 500GB will last you a very long time, but a 200GB will also be enough to hold alot of music, movies, and pictures.

Most computer users will be happy with a 1 gigaHertz processor with between 512 megabytes and 1 gigabyte of Random Access Memory on the motherboard. This is more than adequate for almost all applications.

I am probably the average computer user; I use mine for homework, a little bit of gaming, surfing the web, some DVD editing, and msn. My hard drive is about half full by now (June 07). I recently just added another 250 GB hard drive to use when my first one is full. You can add it on to your computer, so it might be fine to just start with a 250 or 320 GB hard drive and add another one in a year or so.

well, for me as a modern society, i dont have either a laptop or a desktop. but soon i should have. but as a student(information technology) i preferred to use desktop, it is convenient to us to make programs with the use of its keyboard. while on the laptop, it is not easy for typing. yet, laptop can take you anywhere but are you sure ur safe to expose it on the others, maybe it will snatch it. for desktop, it is very safe in your home. the laptop is only 2 gb of memory while on the desktop it was upgraded until to 4 gb of memory. so better to use the desktop. if you are a modern type of a person, and if you want to be socialized, preferred to use laptop especially for business minded person.. we as a programmer,, we preferred to use a desktop.. They are the same. Notebook/Laptop The only difference between a Laptop and a Notebook is which manufacturer is calling it by which name. Apple calls theirs "Notebook"" and the other Windows PC vary from one model to the next. A "Netbook" IS different as it is much smaller and does not have the performance or accessories that a "Normal" Laptop/Notebook has.

yes. i have that laptop and i have sims 3. but you need 6 gb of free space, of it wont work, that was my problem at first.

Is 2.0 gb good for a home computer to download songs I have kids that want to download mp3's and I am afraid they will use up all the hard drive to quikly. We have not downloaded anything yet and are at 70%?
2.0 Gigabytes of Hard Drive space is pretty small for a home computer. I would suggest upgrading to a larger Hard Drive when a single song can be around 5-10 megabytes of space.
