check that the O ring was replaced when oil filter was changed. id O ring is good and filter is tight, and housing still leaking, replace filter housing
Um, which filter? Gotta be more specific.
yes there are 2 o-ring gaskets against the engine block where the oil filter housing attaches.
Remove the cover holding the filter in the cartridge. Remove the old filter and wipe everything clean. Make sure to remove the old rubber O Ring. Replace the O Ring with the new one and install the new filter. Apply a thin layer of oil on the new O Ring. Replace the cover and tighten snugly. Do not over tighten.
If by o ring you mean the ring on the plastic cap that allows you to access the filter, than nothing but remember to do it next time.
Locate the filter housing and remove the drain plug allowing the oil to drain. Remove the filter cap, O-ring and cartridge and clean and examine them for damage. Install the new housing and O-ring in the same position and replace any damaged parts. Slide the O-ring around in its groove until it straightens out.
Chances are that there is a rubber O ring stuck in the channel the filter seats into. Remove the filter, take a scribe or something like a scribe and make sure there isn't an old O ring stuck up there.
Remove the oil filter and then remove the extra o-ring that's STUCK up in the engine block were the filter seats against. It should ONLY have ONE O-RING and that will set on the top of the oil filter.
Unscrew the oil filter, there are 2 Allen head bolts that hold the adapter to the block. Remove these bolts and the O-ring is on top of the adapter.
The most common reason for this is that the O ring from the previous oil filter is still on the car. This happening will cause the new O ring to bind / not seal correctly. Another possibility is that there is a deep gouge or crack in the metal where the O ring connects to the motor also causing a poor seal.
Yes, there is a large o-ring and two smaller ones.Yes, there is a large o-ring and two smaller ones.
oil filters normally have a o ring or a d ring not a gasket. and it is installed on filter itself if you have the spin on type or around the filter cap / screw in housing if you have the cartridge type
