the b16a2 is alot better because it is a DOHC(dual over-head cam) VTEC which makes 160 hp. the d16z6 is a SOHC(single over-head cam) which makes about 110-120 hp.
No , all engine's before 1995 where obd1 after 1995 obd2. Same goes for the b16a2 , if you have for instance a engine from a '94 Del Sol vti (b16a2) It is obd1. Lex

A d16z6 has 16 valves 8 intake and 8 exhaust valves.
i say if u want low end torque but want more hp then go with the b16a2 the engine and tranny just are the perfect match for eachother make great power if u know how to build it from the ground up these engine could take real beatings without sleeving so b16a2 any day
